101-year-old woman who still works 6 days a week shares four key things she does every day

Getting older is a natural part of life, and while many dream of retiring to relax, some view it as the end of purpose. Ann Angeletti of New Jersey is among the latter. At 101 years old, she still works six days a week and has no plans to slow down.

Ann owns Curiosity Jewelers in Cresskill, New Jersey, a shop she has run since 1964. She opens Tuesday through Saturday, spending long hours tending to her business. On the sixth day, she drives to New York City’s Diamond District to buy, sell, and maintain connections within the jewelry trade.

Her busy schedule is impressive for anyone, but remarkable for someone over a century old. Ann insists that work keeps her alive, saying, “If I retire, I would die. So I cannot stay home.” For her, work sharpens the mind, steadies the hands, and nourishes the spirit.

Her strong work ethic stems from her early life in Brooklyn, where she helped her parents run a grocery store and later took jobs to support herself during her husband’s service in World War Two. These experiences instilled resilience and the value of hard work.

In 1964, Ann rented a small store in Cresskill for $85 a month, creating Curiosity Jewelers. Six decades later, the shop thrives as a three-generation family business, with her daughter and granddaughter helping run it.

Ann attributes her longevity to staying active and practicing self-care, emphasizing daily routines, exercise, and maintaining both mind and body.

Her advice to others is simple: pursue what brings fulfillment. With passion, purpose, and persistence, Ann demonstrates that life can remain vibrant at any age, inspiring others to live fully every day.
