Britain’s Got Talent star Dave Betton has died
Sad news has emerged as Britain’s Got Talent star Dave Betton has passed away at the age of 82, his son confirmed in an emotional statement.
Dave gained national recognition in 2020 when he appeared on the popular talent show alongside his son Dean. Their heartfelt rendition of Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life left both the judges and audience deeply moved.
Dean announced his father’s passing on Facebook, sharing the heartbreaking news with friends and fans.
“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I have to let you all know that the legend that is Dave Betton sadly passed away after a very brief illness in the early hours of Wednesday morning surrounded by his loved ones,” Dean wrote.
He went on to express the family’s grief, saying that he, his brother Darren, their wives, children, grandchildren, and extended family will all miss Dave dearly. His passing, Dean said, leaves behind “a huge void to fill.”
Dean described his father as someone who could light up any room he entered, with a personality that instantly made people fall in love with him.
He ended his tribute with a touching farewell: “Rest easy, Pops. I hope Mum is giving you a big telling off for joining her far too soon. Love you always — from me and your loving family.”
