Homemade Hack to Make Your Gas Stove Burn Stronger
How to Fix a Weak or Uneven Gas Stove Flame
If your gas stove flame looks weak, flickers, or burns unevenly, the issue is often clogged nozzles. Over time, grease, food residue, and dust can block the small gas openings, reducing heat and efficiency. Fortunately, you can clean them yourself using simple household items — an aluminum-safe cleaner, a wooden stick or spoon handle, and some soft tissue or toilet paper.
Start by making safety your priority. Turn off the gas supply and let the stove cool completely. Remove the grates and burner caps to expose the nozzle openings.
Pour a small amount of cleaner over each nozzle and let it sit for about 5–10 minutes. This helps loosen grease and soften any stuck residue that’s blocking gas flow.
Then, take your wooden stick and gently move it inside each nozzle opening to dislodge debris. Avoid using metal tools, which can scratch or damage the burners.
Wipe away all loosened grime with tissue or toilet paper. Repeat until the nozzles and surrounding areas are completely clean, then allow all parts to dry fully before reassembling.
Once dry, put the burner caps and grates back in place, reconnect the gas, and test the flame. You should notice it burns stronger and more evenly right away.
For lasting results, clean your stove every 2–3 months, always using aluminum-safe products and checking for leaks afterward. This simple routine keeps your stove efficient, safe, and performing like new.
