At Berlin Zoo, 32-year-old Mandy K found herself in a life-threatening situation after climbing over barriers and jumping into the polar bear enclosure during feeding time. One of the polar bears immediately attacked her, causing severe injuries to her arms, legs, and back.
With the bears more aggressive during feeding, zoo staff had to act fast, managing to distract the bear and pull Mandy to safety. She was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The incident raised concerns about zoo safety and highlighted the risks when visitors breach barriers designed to protect both them and the animals. This situation serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by interactions with wild animals, even in controlled environments.
