Charlie Kirk’s security chief finally explains ‘hand signals’ right before fatal shooting
In September 2025, Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot during a university event. A 22-year-old man, Tyler Robinson, has been charged with his murder.
Following the event, graphic footage circulated online, leading to conspiracy theories. Some social media users focused on the security team’s actions moments before the shooting.
They speculated that two guards adjusting their shirts or hats were using pre-arranged hand signals, suggesting foreknowledge of the attack.
Brian Harpole, the head of security that day, has now publicly shut down these rumors. He explained that his team communicates via radio, not hand signals.
Harpole stated that if they ever did use signals, they would be unmistakable gestures, not ordinary movements like adjusting a hat that could be easily confused.
He expressed bewilderment that such normal actions were misinterpreted, emphasizing that no such signals were used.
Harpole also condemned the baseless theories targeting Kirk’s widow, Erika, calling the false accusations against a grieving victim damaging and irresponsible.
