Trump’s blunt 7-word message to fans of Melania who believe he’s ‘not good enough’
Donald Trump offered a blunt remark to attendees who seemed more interested in hearing from his wife Melania than from him during a White House event. The moment occurred as he signed an executive order on foster care on November 13.
Melania began the event by outlining her own efforts to support children aging out of the foster system. She highlighted the importance of helping young people transition into adulthood with access to opportunities.
The “Fostering the Future” initiative will create an online platform aimed at connecting foster youth with educational and career resources. It will also provide grants and vouchers to help them build stability as they move forward.
In her remarks, Melania praised the order, calling it compassionate, strategic, and impactful. She noted that it would build a broad network linking government agencies, private companies, universities, and nonprofits to better support foster children.
When Trump took the podium, he praised Melania, pointing out that she speaks “at least five languages” and joking that he couldn’t do the same. He then acknowledged that she had received a warmer welcome than he had.
Continuing his comments, he called Melania a “magnificent and very caring First Lady,” adding that people often preferred listening to her. He joked about it, asking the audience, “What the hell, I’m not good enough?”
After finishing his speech, Trump invited Melania to join him in signing the executive order—an unusual step for a First Lady. The White House noted that she helped secure a $25 million budget investment to support foster youth, aligning with her ongoing focus on children’s welfare, including her recent criticism of Vladimir Putin over the abduction of Ukrainian children.
