Trump accidentally fuels motion to impeach himself in baffling online rant

Donald Trump unintentionally drew attention to calls for his own impeachment while reacting online to a video shared by six Democratic lawmakers.

The video reminded members of the U.S. military that they may refuse any order that violates the Constitution. Democrats released it amid growing concern over Trump’s deployment of the National Guard across multiple states and his threats to use the military domestically.

Facing increasing criticism over these actions, Trump lashed out on Truth Social. However, in doing so, he accidentally amplified an anti-Trump account.

One of the posts he shared featured an image of Sen. Mark Kelly, one of the Democrats in the video. But the account posting it was clearly opposed to Trump, operating under the name “Impeach Trump a 3rd Time,” and regularly shared pro-Democrat messages and images mocking MAGA supporters.

After Trump reposted it, the left-leaning account Patriot Takes pointed out the mistake, noting that Trump had boosted an account openly calling for his impeachment.

Trump has continued to attack the six Democrats who appeared in the 90-second clip, in which they warned service members that they must not follow illegal orders, stressing that threats to the Constitution can come from within the country.

He responded with multiple angry posts on Truth Social, at one point calling the lawmakers’ actions “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH,” and even shared a message from another user urging, “HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD.”

Trump later softened his tone slightly in a Fox News interview, saying he wasn’t calling for execution but believed the lawmakers were “in serious trouble.”
