Trump reveals plans for next White House renovation project to remove ‘Biden filth’ following $300,000,000 ballroom
Donald Trump has taken aim at Joe Biden while announcing new plans for further renovations in Washington, D.C. His comments follow backlash over his ongoing construction project at the White House.
Last month, Trump faced criticism after beginning work to remove the historic East Wing to make space for a new ballroom. The project, costing roughly $300 million, will create a 90,000-square-foot venue able to host about 650 guests. Officials said the expansion required dismantling the existing structure.
Trump defended the project, saying the ballroom would be “one of the great ballrooms anywhere in the world,” and argued that removing the old wing was necessary to build it correctly.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump signaled that he has even more renovation plans in mind. This time, he targeted the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool—and used the opportunity to criticize President Biden.
Trump shared a black-and-white video of the reflecting pool being cleaned and claimed he and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum would restore it. He described the current condition as “Biden filth and incompetence” and said the pool would soon be improved as part of efforts to “make D.C. beautiful again.”
No timeline or budget for the reflecting pool cleanup has been released. While this proposal hasn’t drawn major backlash, the ballroom construction has sparked debate over cost and the removal of a historic structure.
The White House has defended the expansion, saying the East Wing lacked capacity for large events and often required unattractive temporary tents. Renderings of the new ballroom show a vast space with ornate gold detailing and grand chandeliers.
