Donald Trump slammed for ‘childish’ Thanksgiving message where he hurls offensive slur at Tim Walz
Donald Trump is facing strong backlash after posting an early-morning Thanksgiving rant on Truth Social, where he attacked political figures and used a slur to describe Minnesota governor Tim Walz. His message began with a holiday greeting before turning into a heated tirade about immigration.
In the post, shared at 4:27 a.m., Trump claimed migrants receive around $50,000 in yearly benefits and then criticized Mike Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar, even making an inappropriate comment about Omar’s hijab. He also launched into a harsh attack on Somalia, Omar’s birth country, describing it as dangerous and dysfunctional.
Trump further accused Governor Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’ former running mate, of letting Somali refugees “take over” parts of Minnesota. He escalated the rhetoric by saying “Somalian gangs” roam the streets while residents hide indoors.
In one of the post’s most controversial sections, Trump insulted Walz using an offensive slur. He also mocked Omar by saying she is “always wrapped in her swaddling hijab,” drawing widespread condemnation.
Social media users quickly criticized Trump’s remarks once the post spread beyond Truth Social. Many described the rant as cruel, embarrassing, and childish, with some questioning why a president would spend Thanksgiving morning posting insults.
Governor Walz responded with a pointed message on X, writing: “Release the MRI results.” He later shared a calm Thanksgiving greeting on Facebook, wishing Minnesotans a restful holiday with family and friends.
Trump’s comments have continued to spark debate over his rhetoric and treatment of political opponents.
