Reason Donald Trump hasn’t drunk a single drop of alcohol as a recovering alcoholic claims one thing proves you’ve got a problem
Donald Trump recently explained why he has chosen to avoid alcohol throughout his entire life during an interview with podcaster Theo Von.
In the conversation, Trump discussed his long-standing stance on avoiding both alcohol and drugs. While many people know he doesn’t drink, the deeper reason behind his decision is less commonly talked about.
Theo Von opened the interview by asking Trump why he has always stayed away from alcohol. Trump responded that his choice was influenced by a personal warning from a close family member.
Trump revealed that his older brother, Fred Trump, urged him never to drink or smoke. Despite that advice, Fred struggled with alcoholism himself, which ultimately led to his death at just 42 years old. Trump described him fondly, calling him a great and handsome man who battled a serious addiction.
Reflecting further, Trump said he believed his brother’s problems began during his college years, and witnessing Fred’s decline made Trump determined never to follow the same path.
During the interview, Von also shared his own experiences with addiction, mentioning that having even one drink makes it harder for him to avoid other substances.
Later in the discussion, the topic shifted to signs of unhealthy drinking. A recovering alcoholic, Corey Warren, had spoken online about an important warning sign: blackouts. He explained that blacking out isn’t “normal partying” but a sign that someone’s tolerance has become dangerously high and their brain is shutting down.
