People spot ‘embarrassing’ detail during cabinet meeting but others believe it could have a sinister meaning
A recent Trump administration cabinet meeting has drawn attention online after viewers noticed an awkward detail involving Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of War. The meeting, held on December 2 at the White House, was livestreamed and quickly became a topic of conversation.
During the session, President Trump appeared to briefly nod off, although this happened after he criticized reporters for questioning his health. He sarcastically referenced President Biden while insisting he regularly handles multiple press conferences a day.
Trump went on to complain about media scrutiny, arguing that journalists constantly look for issues—including doubts about his health—while praising Biden, whom he claimed avoided press conferences for months. He joked that taking a single day off would spark speculation about his wellbeing.
But the biggest point of discussion wasn’t Trump’s comments or even the moment he closed his eyes. Instead, viewers noticed that Hegseth’s nameplate had a glaring typo, labeling him as the “SSECRETARY OF WAR.” The mistake prompted widespread teasing online.
While a few people floated far-fetched theories about the double “S,” most agreed it was simply an embarrassing spelling error made by a White House staffer preparing materials for the globally broadcast meeting.
The meeting lasted over two hours and covered topics such as drug trafficking, migrant policies, and concerns about Trump’s health. Social media users, however, fixated on the president’s apparent drowsiness, jokingly calling him “Dozy Don” and “Commander in Sleep.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the claims, insisting Trump remained fully engaged throughout the long session.
