Prince William and Kate Middleton share Christmas card photo but royal fans are annoyed over one detail

The Prince and Princess of Wales have released their 2025 Christmas card, featuring a new family photograph. The image shows William and Kate on the grass with their three children—George, Charlotte, and Louis—amid spring daffodils.

The photo, taken by Josh Shinner in Norfolk last April, presents a casual and sweet family moment. Princess Charlotte rests her head on her father’s shoulder, while Prince Louis relaxes between William’s legs. Kate has her arm around Prince George.

The card’s simple message reads, “Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas.” It was shared with the public via Kensington Palace’s official social media accounts.

However, the choice of a springtime photograph has drawn some criticism from royal followers. Several social media users expressed that the image does not feel seasonal enough for a Christmas greeting.

Comments noted that the photo is not recent and lacks traditional festive elements. One user suggested a more current picture would be preferable, given how quickly children change.

This release follows the Christmas card from King Charles and Queen Camilla, which was also a spring portrait from April. Their card featured an anniversary photo taken in Rome.

Despite the mixed reaction, the card offers the public a glimpse into the Wales family’s personal life. It continues their tradition of sharing an annual holiday greeting with well-wishers.
