Karoline Leavitt makes unusual Trump reference while revealing her pregnancy

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced that she is expecting her second child. The news drew attention not only for the pregnancy itself, but also for a public expression of gratitude toward President Donald Trump during the announcement.

Leavitt, 28, shared on Instagram that she and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, are expecting a baby girl in May 2026. Festive photos showed her baby bump alongside a shirt reading “Baby sis,” celebrating the growing family.

In a second post, she shared an image of Riccio holding their one-year-old son, Niko, beside a Christmas tree. She expressed deep gratitude for motherhood, describing it as one of life’s greatest blessings.

She then surprised followers by thanking President Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support. Leavitt said she appreciated the pro-family culture they promote within the White House, adding that she is excited to become a mother of a daughter.

Leavitt previously made headlines as the youngest White House press secretary. She gave birth to Niko in July 2024 while working on Trump’s campaign and returned to work earlier than planned after a major campaign crisis.

During the campaign, she often balanced work and motherhood by keeping her son close, whether working from home or bringing him to the office. Niko has since appeared frequently on her social media.

Leavitt credits her husband’s support for helping her balance family and career. The White House has confirmed she will remain in her role after giving birth, though her maternity leave plans have not been detailed.
