Journalists Reveal How Far Media Went To Cover For Joe, Hunter Biden
New debate is growing over how major news organizations reported on former President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, during the years leading up to and during his presidency.
According to a Fox News report published Saturday, critics of traditional media say many outlets were too hesitant to aggressively cover concerns surrounding Biden’s health and his family’s legal and financial controversies. These critics argue that difficult stories were often downplayed or treated with more caution than similar stories involving other political figures.
Much of that criticism increased after Biden’s widely discussed CNN debate performance in 2024, which raised fresh concerns about his condition and eventually preceded his withdrawal from the presidential race.
The report also argues that this protective approach may have started much earlier, going back to May 2019, while the Democratic primary race was still underway.
Adding to the discussion, former Politico reporter Marc Caputo published a report last week saying that opposition research from Biden’s Democratic rivals included claims connected to Hunter Biden’s financial dealings. Among the issues mentioned was a reported tax lien tied to Hunter Biden’s work with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.
Supporters of the media say editors were trying to avoid repeating unverified political attacks, while critics believe important questions were not pursued strongly enough. As more details emerge, the broader argument over fairness, bias, and media judgment continues to grow.
