Miranda Lambert, despite facing backlash, shows little regret over calling out a fan. While performing at her Vegas residency, she stopped mid-song to reprimand an audience member for taking a selfie during “Tin Man.” Lambert interrupted the concert, saying, “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song, it’s pissing me off… We’re here to hear some country music.”
The fan quickly put her phone away, and the crowd cheered Lambert’s actions. Later, at another concert, she acknowledged a fan wearing a shirt that read, “Shoot tequila, not selfies,” saying, “She did it, I didn’t!” This only fueled criticism, with some social media users accusing Lambert of shaming her loyal fans.
Adela Calin, the fan who took the selfie, expressed feeling belittled by Lambert’s actions. She explained that they took the picture briefly and were planning to sit down. Calin described the experience as being scolded like a schoolchild and felt that Lambert unfairly portrayed them as immature, even though they were simply trying to capture a memory.
