Bonnie Tyler’s friend issues
Concern continues to grow around legendary singer Bonnie Tyler after reports revealed she suffered serious medical complications while receiving treatment in Portugal.
Doctors reportedly placed the singer into a medically induced coma as part of emergency care. Later reports claimed complications led to cardiac arrest, forcing medical staff to resuscitate her.
She is currently being treated in intensive care in Faro, Portugal, where doctors are also battling a severe infection with antibiotics. Medical teams are said to be monitoring her condition closely.
Family friend Liberto Mealha shared an emotional update during an interview on Good Morning Britain. Although doctors remain hopeful, he explained that Tyler’s situation is still considered very serious.
According to friends, Tyler — born Gaynor Hopkins — first began feeling ill earlier this year while performing in London. Initial medical evaluations reportedly failed to identify the severity of the problem before her condition worsened in Portugal, eventually requiring emergency surgery.
Despite dealing with health issues in recent years, including knee problems, Tyler had continued touring across Europe. She previously said she stayed active through short Pilates workouts and regular movement.
Known worldwide for classic hits such as “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” “Holding Out for a Hero,” and “It’s a Heartache,” Tyler became one of the most recognizable voices of the 1970s and 1980s. Her representatives have denied false online rumors while confirming she remains seriously ill but stable as fans continue sending support and prayers.
