Widow Leaves After Son Tries to Take Her Home

Theresa had barely buried her husband, Ernest, when her son Austin moved into her home and began treating her like a servant.

He brought his wife, their pets, and their problems, acting as if the house already belonged to him. Then he told Theresa she would end up in a cheap nursing home.

With help from her attorney, Theresa prepared the documents Austin needed to see. Then she packed one suitcase, left the legal folder on the kitchen table, and boarded a cruise ship.

When Austin called in panic, Theresa finally spoke the truth.

The house was hers. Her life was hers. And she was no longer going to carry everyone else’s debts, pets, hunger, or pride.

For the first time in years, Theresa chose herself.
