Breaking news: Mc donalds worker

A McDonald’s worker in Northern California was hospitalized after a co-worker allegedly threw hot cooking oil at him during a shift.

The incident happened at a McDonald’s restaurant in Yuba City, where 20-year-old Jacob Smith was working as a shift manager.

According to his mother, Smith was preparing to count money in the office when the oil was allegedly thrown at him.

He suffered serious second-degree burns over about 22% of his body and was admitted to the intensive care unit. His mother said he is expected to need multiple surgeries, including skin graft treatment.

Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Jalani Bluett, another McDonald’s employee. Authorities said Bluett left the restaurant before officers arrived but was later located and arrested.

During arraignment, police said Bluett was being held on charges including assault with a deadly weapon, mayhem, and serious felony assault resulting in great bodily injury.

He is being held without bail in Sutter County.

Smith’s family has launched a fundraiser to help with medical expenses. Despite the painful recovery ahead, Smith shared a message thanking his family, friends, and faith for supporting him.

The case remains under investigation.
