Texas Man Sentenced to Prison for Striking Border Patrol Agent With Vehicle

A federal court in Del Rio sentenced a 26-year-old man from Katy, Texas, to 18 months in prison for assaulting, resisting, or interfering with law enforcement officers.

According to court records, Kevin Dominguez drove a sedan to the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on U.S. Highway 57 on August 1, 2023. A Border Patrol K-9 detected something suspicious in the trunk, leading agents to discover a person inside. When an agent noticed the individual, Dominguez reversed the vehicle, hitting the agent, and then sped away from the checkpoint, the FBI stated in a press release.
