Meghan Markle speaks

Meghan Markle revealed she experienced a rare and serious condition, postpartum preeclampsia, following her pregnancies. Speaking on the debut episode of her new podcast Confessions Of A Female Founder, Meghan opened up about the health scare while talking with Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, who had faced the same issue. The Duchess described it as a “scary” and isolating time, especially while managing life in the public eye. She emphasized the silent struggle many women endure after childbirth, dealing with major medical conditions while still trying to show up for their children.

Postpartum preeclampsia is a rare condition that causes high blood pressure and excess protein in the urine after childbirth. If untreated, it can lead to seizures and serious complications. Meghan’s new podcast will feature eight episodes, spotlighting female entrepreneurs and their journeys. The podcast launch coincided with Prince Harry’s return to the UK for a court case over changes to his taxpayer-funded security since stepping back as a working royal. The couple continues to keep their children, Archie and Lilibet, largely private, though have recently shared glimpses into their lives through social media.
