A tragic incident occurred on April 8 when the roof of Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, collapsed during a concert by singer Rubby Pérez, killing at least 124 people and injuring over 255 others. Video footage captured the roof caving in just an hour after the show began. Among the confirmed dead are MLB players Octavio Dotel and Tony Enrique Blanco Cabrera, Governor Nelsy Cruz, singer Rubby Pérez, and saxophonist Luis Solis. Other victims include Venezuelan bartenders, an army captain, bank executives, and various professionals. So far, only 54 victims have been identified, while many remain unnamed as rescue efforts continue.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio expressed condolences and pledged support, while Dominican President Luis Abinader declared three days of mourning. Emergency officials vow to continue searching tirelessly.
