Dog Barks at

At his father’s funeral, Ryan becomes suspicious when his dog, Bella, barks at the casket. Opening it, he discovers his father’s body is missing. A series of strange events unfold: the coroner has resigned, the morgue file is gone, and his father’s email has been wiped. Ryan learns the company is in debt, and suspicions arise about a possible affair between his father, Arnold, and his secretary, Miss Pearson. He follows her, discovers a $7 million life insurance policy naming her as beneficiary, and takes it to the police.

Ryan sets a trap by auctioning a rare figurine his father wanted, hoping to lure him out. The plan works—Arnold appears at the auction and is arrested. It’s revealed he faked his death with Miss Pearson to escape his responsibilities and start over. Ryan expresses disappointment in his father’s betrayal and values. The story ends with hope that justice will be served and Miss Pearson will be found.
