Elon Musk Speaks

Elon Musk has opened up about his emotional struggle following his breakup with actress Amber Heard. The pair dated publicly from 2017 until their split in August that year, though rumors of their relationship began in 2016. Musk said he first noticed Heard in the 2013 film Machete Kills, and their romance was marked by long distance and intense work schedules. Despite efforts to see each other—like Musk flying to Australia and Heard visiting Tesla’s factory—their careers ultimately led to their breakup. Musk described the split as “brutal,” while Heard expressed continued affection, saying, “Elon loves fire, and sometimes it burns him.”

In interviews following the breakup, Musk admitted to being left in “severe emotional pain” for weeks and said the loneliness deeply affected him. He struggled to stay composed during the Tesla Model 3 launch, relying on Red Bulls and positive company to get through the day. Musk revealed he’s not interested in short-term flings but longs for a deep, lasting relationship, describing the pain of going to sleep alone as overwhelming. Despite now having 14 children with four women, his current relationship status remains unclear.
