Former West Coast Eagles and West Perth footballer Sean King has sadly passed away at the age of 60 after a brief battle with cancer. His death on April 9 has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans and clubs alike. Just days before his passing, King was honoured with a life membership by West Perth, a club he served for over three decades. The West Coast Eagles expressed their condolences, noting King’s role as an original squad member and sending support to his loved ones. He played 60 games for West Perth and scored 48 goals before later appearing in 10 matches for East Perth in 1991.

The club praised his commitment, charisma, and positive impact on the community, describing him as a beloved figure among players and staff. His former teammates remembered him as not only a skilled athlete but a mentor and friend, with one tribute reading, “Gone way too early… a great teacher of the game.” Sean King leaves behind his wife Anita and children Jordan, Hannah, and Tom.
