Smartest man in the world
Chris Langan, believed to have an IQ between 195 and 210, is often referred to as the smartest man in the world. He developed the Cognitive Theoretic Model of the Universe (CTMU), a theory aiming to explain reality, consciousness, and the afterlife using mathematics and logic. The theory suggests that reality is made of information and functions like a self-generating algorithm that inherently contains and sustains consciousness. According to Langan, this system includes a universal “mind,” interpreted as God, which continues to hold our consciousness even after death.
The CTMU proposes that when we die, our minds don’t vanish but instead transition into another form of reality—similar to a metaphysical “heaven.” This infinite informational system is described as impossible not to exist, even in “nothingness,” meaning consciousness continues beyond physical life. Despite its complexity and deep philosophical reach, many find the theory difficult to understand. A YouTube interview with Langan revealed that viewers were left confused, with some criticizing the theory for being abstract and overly convoluted. Still, the CTMU has drawn attention for its attempt to blend science, philosophy, and theology into one unified explanation of existence.
