My Husband Said He Was

A woman’s trust in her marriage is shaken after she answers a call on her husband Nick’s phone and hears a school say his “daughter” is sick. Shocked—since she never knew he had a child—she checks his phone records and sees previous calls to the same school. Suspicion grows, especially as his Saturday marathon training sessions conveniently align with the school’s location. Deciding to find out the truth, she secretly follows him one morning and discovers he really is running with friends—Jake and Chris. But when a little girl runs to one of them yelling “Daddy,” and not to Nick, her anxiety begins to fade.

Later that day, she confesses everything to Nick, who laughs and explains Jake borrowed his phone to call the school when his died, which led to the mix-up. Relieved and a little embarrassed, she realizes her fears were unfounded. The couple laughs about it now, joking about Nick’s “secret family,” and the incident becomes a funny memory. The experience taught her the importance of trust—and how sometimes, a little misunderstanding just needs time (and a jog) to be cleared up. Nick eventually completes his marathon, cheered on by his very relieved wife.
