Nostradamus ‘predicted’

Pope Francis died on Easter Monday (April 21) due to a stroke and heart failure after battling health issues, including a recent infection that progressed into double pneumonia. His passing was confirmed by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, who praised the Pope’s devotion and faith. In the wake of his death, people revisited a prediction by 16th-century astrologer Nostradamus, who mentioned the death of an old Pontiff and the rise of a Roman successor. The prophecy also referred to a young man with dark skin who, aided by a powerful figure, would pass authority to someone “of red color.”

While Nostradamus’ predictions intrigue some, the next pope will be chosen through the traditional conclave process. Cardinals under age 80 from around the world will gather in secrecy to vote. During the conclave, they will have no access to communication tools or media. Once a new pope is elected, the voting materials are burned, and white smoke signals the announcement to the public.
