US citizen reveals

Aldo Martinez-Gomez, a California-born U.S. citizen, was shocked when he received an email from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on April 11, ordering him to leave the country within seven days. The message warned that his parole was being terminated and threatened criminal prosecution if he failed to comply. The email ended with a chilling line: “Do not attempt to remain in the United States – the federal government will find you.” Speaking to ABC 10NEWS, Aldo expressed fear over what he believes could be a government mistake, especially considering the administration’s recent deportation rhetoric.

Since Donald Trump’s return to the presidency in January, immigration crackdowns have intensified, including the revocation of humanitarian parole for over 500,000 migrants and discussions about deporting convicted U.S. citizens. DHS later acknowledged that some deportation notices may have been sent in error and are being reviewed individually. Aldo, who works for a nonprofit advocating for immigrant rights, believes his role may have drawn government attention. He emphasized that his goal is to raise awareness, not seek publicity, as similar erroneous emails have reportedly been sent to others, including a Massachusetts immigration attorney.
