Trump has sharp 8-word
On April 29, Donald Trump marked his 100th day back in the Oval Office as the 47th President of the United States. In an interview with ABC News’ Terry Moran, Trump reflected on his administration’s early actions, defending controversial decisions like the trade war with China, which has led to increased tariffs. When Moran noted that some voters were unhappy with the economic consequences, Trump responded bluntly, “Well, they did sign up for it, actually.” He emphasized that his campaign focused on economic reform and criticized previous international trade practices, which he claimed were unsustainable. Trump also highlighted recent drops in gas and egg prices as evidence of progress.
Despite Trump’s reassurances, his public approval ratings tell a different story. A joint poll by ABC News, the Washington Post, and Ipsos showed Trump holding the lowest 100-day approval rating in 80 years, with 55% of Americans disapproving of his leadership. Another poll by The New York Times and Siena College reflected a similar trend, showing only 42% approval and 66% of respondents describing his second term as “chaotic.”
