Company working on hypersonic

Venus Aerospace has successfully tested a hypersonic jet engine, bringing the possibility of ultra-fast travel closer to reality. The Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine (RDRE) was launched from a spaceport in New Mexico on May 14, marking a breakthrough in hypersonic technology. CEO Sarah Duggleby expressed excitement, noting that after five years of work, the technology has been proven in real-world conditions. The company aims to develop the Stargazer M4, a reusable passenger aircraft capable of reaching Mach 4, which could reduce a flight from San Francisco to Tokyo to just two hours.

The engine’s success is a milestone in achieving hypersonic flight, which would allow travel four to six times the speed of sound. Scott McLaughlin from Spaceport America praised the innovation, while Venus Aerospace co-founder Andrew Duggleby highlighted the importance of making the engine reliable and efficient. With further tests, the company hopes to revolutionize long-distance travel, drastically reducing current flight times.
