Barack and Michelle Obama reveal ‘hard times’ as they directly address divorce rumors

Barack and Michelle Obama have been married for 31 years and recently addressed rumors suggesting their marriage is on the rocks. Despite being one of the most high-profile couples in the world, they’ve consistently presented a united front.

The couple shares two daughters, Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24. Barack served as U.S. president for two terms, from 2009 to 2017, a role that undoubtedly came with stress and pressure on their personal lives.

Though it’s been nearly a decade since Barack left office, recent rumors have questioned the strength of their marriage. Michelle has previously denied such claims, but the couple spoke together on her new podcast to clear the air.

On the Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast, co-hosted with her brother Michael, Michelle joked that “folks think we’re divorced.” She then firmly stated she’s never considered leaving Barack, despite going through difficult times together.

Barack responded emotionally to Michelle’s praise, saying, “Don’t make me cry right at the beginning of the show,” visibly touched by her words.

Michelle reflected on Barack’s early days as a father, praising him for being equally involved in parenting. She noted that their shared responsibilities helped create a strong bond between Barack and their daughters from infancy.

Earlier this year, Michelle told The Diary of a CEO podcast that if she were having marital issues, it wouldn’t be kept secret. She acknowledged that marriage takes work but emphasized that Barack is still “her person.”
