Rumer Willis Shares Heartbreaking Update on Dad Bruce Willis’ Dementia Battle
Rumer Willis shared an emotional Father’s Day tribute to her dad, Bruce Willis, as he continues to live with frontotemporal dementia. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the 36-year-old expressed the pain of missing their once-deep conversations.
She posted tender photos of Bruce, including sweet moments with her daughter, Louetta, reflecting on the loss of connection. “Today is hard,” Rumer wrote. “I wish I had asked you more questions when you could answer them.” Despite the sadness, she chose to focus on gratitude.
Rumer shared how much it means to see Bruce light up around her daughter. “Even now, his eyes sparkle when he sees Louetta,” she said, cherishing every moment they still have together.
She also reached out to others grieving or struggling, saying, “Sending love to those who’ve lost fathers or are single moms playing both roles.” Rumer shares Louetta with ex-partner Derek Richard Thomas.
Bruce, now 69, has five daughters: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah with Demi Moore, and Mabel and Evelyn with Emma Heming Willis. Since his diagnosis in 2023, his family has stood by him with love and strength.
Emma Heming also honored Bruce and all fathers facing health battles. “Happy Father’s Day to the dads living with illness or disability,” she wrote, sharing a photo of them together. She emphasized the lessons Bruce still teaches—resilience, unconditional love, and presence.
Despite the heartache, the family remains united. “Love deepens, it adapts,” Emma said. “Today we honor all incredible dads, whether still with us or held in memory.”
