Britain’s Former Youngest Mother Expecting Fourth Child

Tressa Middleton, once known as the youngest mother in Britain, is now 29 and expecting her fourth daughter. She shared the joyful news on Facebook with an ultrasound image and the caption: “So guys, it’s another girl!! Four girls, I can’t believe it. Good luck, Darren.”

Tressa made headlines 17 years ago when she gave birth at age 12. Her early life was marked by hardship, including being raised in a troubled home with a mother battling addiction. At first, people assumed alcohol was involved in her pregnancy.

She fell into depression and substance abuse following the birth, and her daughter was later taken into care and adopted. For years, the father’s identity was a mystery until 2009, when Tressa revealed her older brother, Jason, had repeatedly assaulted her.

A DNA test confirmed her statement, and Jason, then 34, received a four-year prison sentence. Tressa described how he manipulated her with drugs and threats to keep her silent.

Despite her traumatic past and early struggles, Tressa has since turned her life around. She is now in a stable relationship with her partner Darren Young and preparing to welcome their third child together.

Tressa held the title of Britain’s youngest mum for 15 years until 2021, when an 11-year-old girl gave birth after a similar tragedy. These cases spotlight the urgent need to protect vulnerable children.

Other notable cases include Alfie Patten, who at 13 believed he was a father, and Sean Stewart, who became a dad at 12. The youngest known mother globally remains Lina Medina, who gave birth at five.
