Trump Suggests Former VP Harris Broke Campaign Finance Laws
Former President Donald Trump has suggested that Kamala Harris may have broken the law due to questionable financial practices during her 2024 presidential campaign.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump said he was looking into the large debts Democrats incurred after the election. Despite raising historic amounts of money in a short period, Harris’s campaign ended with tens of millions in debt.
Trump criticized the campaign’s use of celebrity appearances to generate excitement. He pointed to a rally in Houston where Beyoncé was expected to perform but didn’t appear, resulting in attendees leaving disappointed.
He claimed Democrats may have illegally paid Beyoncé $11 million just for an endorsement, adding that she never performed and left the crowd angry. He also said $3 million was listed as “expenses” inappropriately.
Trump further mentioned Oprah Winfrey and Al Sharpton as receiving large payments for what he called “nothing,” alleging these were improperly reported.
He emphasized that paying for endorsements is illegal and warned of the potential fallout if politicians began using campaign funds this way. “All hell would break loose,” Trump wrote.
In closing, Trump stated that Harris and others who received endorsement-related payments “broke the law” and should face prosecution. Harris raised over $1 billion in less than 80 days, with a massive fundraising surge following President Biden’s withdrawal from the race.
