Man Uses 11 Shipping Containers To Build His 2,500 Square Foot Dream House, And The Inside Looks Amazing

Designer Will Breaux transformed a long-held dream into reality by constructing a house entirely from shipping containers.

Situated on McGowen Street in Houston, the striking residence is built from 11 containers, forming a three-story, 2,500-square-foot home complete with a rooftop deck.

Breaux had been envisioning his own custom home since the early 2000s. However, he faced difficulties finding a designer who could capture his exact vision.

Determined not to settle, he began researching projects he admired and seeking inspiration. When a hired design team failed to meet his expectations, he decided to take full control of the project himself.

Around 2011, Breaux started designing his future home. Shipping containers quickly became his material of choice thanks to their strength, fire resistance, durability, and ability to withstand hurricanes.

Although he had no professional building background, Breaux committed to learning everything he could about container construction. He created a detailed 3D model to bring his vision to life.

After years of dedication and countless hours of work, Breaux now lives in his extraordinary, fully furnished container home—a one-of-a-kind structure that reflects both his creativity and determination.
