After Decades on Air, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Bid Farewell to Their Studio

It was an emotional farewell on Live with Kelly and Mark as the daytime favorite filmed its final episode at its longtime Upper West Side studio before moving downtown. The last taping at the historic location took place on April 1.

For 37 years, the show’s home was 7 Lincoln Square at 67th Street and Columbus Avenue. The studio became an iconic backdrop, first hosting Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford before welcoming a series of co-hosts over the decades.

Kelly Ripa joined in 2001 and has remained a fixture through multiple transitions, including working alongside Michael Strahan and Ryan Seacrest after Philbin’s exit in 2011. Since April 2023, she has co-hosted with her husband, Mark Consuelos.

Though Consuelos is newer to the desk, both he and Ripa described the studio as deeply meaningful, saying it has been part of their family’s story. “Our kids grew up here,” Consuelos told PEOPLE, recalling countless visits backstage.

The couple, both 54, share three children: Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 22. Ripa reflected on balancing motherhood with her career, noting how the show’s family-friendly schedule allowed her to raise her children while working full-time.

The studio also played a pivotal role in their personal lives. In 1996, after briefly breaking up, Ripa and Consuelos reunited on Live during a Mother’s Day segment. The chance encounter led to a proposal the next day and a spontaneous Las Vegas wedding.

The show now moves to 7 Hudson Square, Disney’s new Manhattan headquarters. Known as The Robert A. Iger Building, the state-of-the-art facility already houses The View and The Tamron Hall Show, with Good Morning America set to follow later this year.
