Bill Clinton Leaves The Hamptons With Medical Device At Airport
Former President Bill Clinton was spotted at a New York airport this week carrying a defibrillator among his belongings as he departed the Hamptons, according to the Daily Beast. The 79-year-old, dressed in a tropical shirt and brown fedora, boarded a private jet Thursday with wife Hillary Clinton by his side, along with Secret Service and airport staff.
Photos published by the Daily Mail appeared to show a Propaq MD Air Medical Bag — a portable device used to monitor heart function and deliver shocks in case of cardiac arrest, typically carried by patients considered high-risk.
Clinton’s history of heart problems is well known. He suffered a heart attack in 2004 that required quadruple bypass surgery, later experienced a collapsed lung tied to that procedure, and has undergone stent placements. In 2021, he was hospitalized with a serious infection that led to sepsis.
Despite these health issues, Clinton has remained active. Over the summer, he promoted his latest novel, The First Gentleman, co-written with best-selling author James Patterson.
Born in 1946 in Hope, Arkansas, Clinton studied at Georgetown and Oxford before earning a law degree from Yale, where he met Hillary Rodham. The two married in 1975, launching a lifelong political partnership.
Clinton rose to national prominence as Arkansas governor before winning the presidency in 1992. His tenure saw strong economic growth, welfare reform, and major trade deals, including NAFTA, alongside involvement in Middle East and Northern Ireland peace efforts.
Though his presidency was marred by the Monica Lewinsky scandal and impeachment, Clinton left office with high approval ratings. Since then, he has remained engaged through the Clinton Foundation, focusing on global health and humanitarian work, even as his health has required closer medical attention.
