Donald Trump mocks Biden with photo hanging
Donald Trump has once again taken aim at Joe Biden, this time with a stunt inside the White House. Reports claim that Biden’s official portrait was swapped out for an image of an autopen — the machine often used to replicate signatures.
The gesture highlights Trump’s ongoing rivalry with Biden, which traces back to their 2020 election battle. Although many expected a rematch in 2024, Biden stepped aside due to health issues, with Vice President Kamala Harris emerging as the Democratic nominee. Biden’s health and capability have remained frequent talking points, giving Trump ammunition to criticize him.
For months, Trump has targeted Biden’s reliance on the autopen. He argues that many executive actions in Biden’s later years were not signed personally but by machine.
In June, Trump even ordered an investigation into Biden’s use of the device, suggesting it signaled declining mental fitness and casting doubt on the legitimacy of certain presidential documents.
Biden rejected these accusations, stating that all major decisions — pardons, executive orders, and proclamations — were made by him directly. He stressed that the autopen was merely a tool, not a substitute for his judgment.
It’s worth noting that Biden was not the first president to use the device. The Department of Justice has confirmed that several of his predecessors employed it legally, and that such signatures remain valid.
Despite this, Trump has argued that reliance on the autopen weakens accountability. He has called for reviews of executive actions, clemency grants, and orders signed with the machine.
