Jasmine Crockett Smears Charlie Kirk
Ahead of Charlie Kirk’s memorial service, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) renewed criticisms of the late conservative activist and took aim at her fellow Democrats.
Crockett pointed out that in the vote on a House resolution honoring Kirk, only two white Democrats had joined those opposing it — a disparity she said “hurt [her] heart.” (KOMO)
She argued that Kirk’s rhetoric had routinely targeted people of color and said that it was unacceptable to celebrate someone whose comments she considered harmful. (KOMO)
Crockett also invoked remarks Kirk had made about her personally. She said that he had labeled her part of a “great white replacement” conspiracy — a claim she rejected and criticized as defamatory. (KOMO)
Her comments were consistent with earlier statements by Rep. Ilhan Omar, in which Kirk was similarly portrayed as antagonistic toward communities of color.
The timing of Crockett’s remarks — coinciding with the large memorial gathering for Kirk — drew attention to the deep divisions over how to remember his legacy.
While Crockett’s critique resonated among progressives, it also ignited backlash from conservative voices who saw her remarks as unfairly inflammatory.
Either way, her comments ensured that the public discussion surrounding Kirk’s memory remained as polarized as his life and rhetoric had been.
