All the confirmed passengers onboard
Drummer Daniel Williams, known for his time with The Devil Wears Prada, tragically died in a plane crash on Thursday, May 22. The plane, owned and piloted by music agent David Shapiro, went down in San Diego’s Murphy Canyon neighborhood, killing all six people on board. Among the victims were Shapiro’s colleagues, booking assistants Kendall Fortner and Emma Huke, his friend Dominic Damian, and photographer Celina Kenyon. Before the crash, Williams shared videos from the cockpit on Instagram.
The National Transportation Safety Board revealed several factors contributing to the crash, including heavy fog, inactive runway lights, and a failed weather alert system. These issues caused the plane to miss the runway and crash into residential areas, damaging homes, cars, and power lines. Despite the tragic loss of life, eight people on the ground suffered minor injuries, and rescue workers treated dogs exposed to jet fuel. Williams’ former bandmates paid tribute to him and Shapiro, expressing their heartbreak and gratitude online.
