Amanda Seyfried says she’s ‘not f***ing apologizing’ for comments on Charlie Kirk’s assassination

Amanda Seyfried has faced criticism for calling political activist Charlie Kirk “hateful,” but she maintains she won’t apologize for her remarks.

Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot in September during an event at Utah Valley University, prompting widespread public reactions.

Seyfried commented on Instagram about his political positions, writing simply: “He was hateful,” which quickly sparked backlash.

She later clarified that people were ignoring nuance, explaining she can condemn harmful rhetoric while still believing Kirk’s killing was tragic and unjustifiable.

Seyfried emphasized that the U.S. is facing too many violent deaths and urged people to at least agree on that broader issue.

Speaking to WhoWhatWear, she said she stands by her comments, noting they were based on Kirk’s own words and actions, and that she has the right to express her view.

Other celebrities also reacted to Kirk’s death, including Jamie Lee Curtis, who criticized his ideas but acknowledged his role as a father and a man of faith.
