Angelina Jolie Is Selling Her House & Leaving The Country

Angelina Jolie is preparing for a major transition, planning to sell her historic Los Angeles estate and move abroad.

According to a source, the Maria star, 50, never intended to live in L.A. permanently but stayed due to her custody arrangement with ex-husband Brad Pitt, 61. The former couple finalized their divorce in December 2024 after an eight-year legal dispute and share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Jolie reportedly intends to relocate once her twins turn 18 next year. She is considering several international destinations and looks forward to leaving Los Angeles behind.

Her current residence, purchased in 2017 for $24.5 million, is a 1913-built, 11,000-square-foot mansion with six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and extensive gardens. Originally bought by director Cecil B. DeMille in 1916, the estate has deep Hollywood history, once neighboring Charlie Chaplin’s former home.

The actress plans minor upgrades before putting the property on the market. She previously told The Hollywood Reporter that her stay in Los Angeles was linked directly to her divorce proceedings.

Jolie has often said she wants her children to have more privacy, peace, and safety—qualities she feels L.A. cannot fully offer. She envisions a life spent across various countries, with Cambodia holding a special place in her heart.

She adopted her eldest son Maddox from Cambodia in 2002 and considers it her true home. If her plans materialize, Jolie’s move will close a significant chapter in both her personal life and Hollywood history.
