Great! Thank you, grandma! Full recipe

A simple foot care routine passed down from my grandmother focused on patience, consistency, and caring for the smallest parts of the body. She believed healthy toenails begin with regular attention, not expensive treatments.

The routine only requires basic items: a basin of warm water, white vinegar, baking soda, a soft nail brush, a pumice stone or nail file, and a moisturizing cream or natural oil like coconut or olive oil.

First, soak your feet in warm water mixed with half a cup of white vinegar and a quarter cup of baking soda for 15 to 20 minutes. This helps soften the nails, reduce odor, and create a less friendly environment for fungus and bacteria.

After soaking, gently scrub each toenail with a soft brush. Focus on removing dirt and smoothing rough areas without using too much force, since gentle care supports healthier nail growth.

Next, use a nail file or emery board to thin thick nails by filing in one direction only. A pumice stone can also help smooth the surface if needed, but avoid filing too deeply.

Dry your feet completely, especially between the toes, because moisture encourages fungal growth. Afterward, apply cream or natural oil around the nail beds and wear clean cotton socks to help protect moisture and warmth.

Repeating this process three or four times a week can improve nail health over time. Simple habits like trimming nails straight across, wearing breathable shoes, and staying patient can make a big difference within several weeks.
