I THOUGHT THEY WERE
At first, the deer seemed harmless, simply standing near the fence with quiet curiosity. Its small size and calm behavior made the moment feel ordinary and peaceful.
Then the young deer stepped closer and gently dropped something onto the ground. From a distance, it looked like nothing more than a rock or a clump of dirt.
Curiosity grew as I moved closer to inspect it. What seemed unimportant at first was actually a neatly folded piece of fabric placed with surprising care.
The cloth looked intentional, almost as if it had been wrapped by human hands. That alone made the situation feel strange and impossible to explain.
Inside the folded fabric was a small wooden box. It was old, simple, and worn, yet it looked protected, as though it had been hidden or carried for a reason.
When the box was opened, it revealed a silver locket. The metal was aged and slightly tarnished, showing signs of time and long use.
Even stranger were the unfamiliar symbols marked on its surface. The discovery turned a simple encounter with a curious deer into something mysterious, leaving far more questions than answers.
