After the death of her son Chris, Kim Erick became convinced that the official explanation surrounding his passing did not match the evidence she discovered. Authorities ruled his death as natural, but Kim believed the photographs from the scene pointed to something far more disturbing.

While investigators described heart failure, Kim noticed bruises, cuts, and marks that appeared to show restraint. She also believed there was a suspicious substance around his mouth, leading her to suspect poisoning rather than a medical emergency. To her, the scene suggested violence instead of a peaceful death.

Despite years of rejection from officials, Kim refused to abandon her search for answers. A 2014 grand jury investigation ended without criminal charges, yet she continued studying every detail connected to her son’s body and medical history.

One feature stood out above all others: an unusual skull fracture Chris had suffered years earlier. Kim carefully documented the injury, believing it could someday help uncover the truth about what happened to him.

Her investigation later took an unexpected turn when she came across the “Real Bodies” exhibit in Las Vegas. The exhibition displays preserved human cadavers using a process called plastination. While viewing photos online, Kim believed one figure strongly resembled her son.

The cadaver, known as “The Thinker,” appeared to show the same skull indentation Chris once had. Shocked by the similarity, Kim feared her son’s remains may have ended up displayed publicly despite reports that he had been cremated.

Kim is now demanding DNA testing to determine the truth. Although the exhibit organizers defend their practices, she remains determined to prove whether the body belongs to her son, continuing a painful search for closure after years of unanswered questions.
