Soong Mei-ling’s Longevity and Healthy Habits
Soong Mei-ling, also known as Madame Chiang, was one of the most influential women in modern Chinese history.
Beyond being the wife of Chiang Kai-shek, she was known as a strong public speaker, diplomat, and cultural bridge between China and the West.
At age 40, she was reportedly diagnosed with cancer. Despite this serious challenge, she went on to live until the age of 106, inspiring many people with her discipline, elegance, and long life.
Her lifestyle was often described as structured and balanced. She reportedly kept a regular sleep schedule, going to bed around 11 p.m. and waking around 9 a.m. She also spent time each day reading, painting, and writing.
Her diet was simple and thoughtful. She enjoyed lemon water, fruits such as kiwi, pineapple, and lychee, and vegetables like celery and spinach.
Another habit often linked to her wellness was eating small meals several times a day. She reportedly ate only until she felt about 70% full, avoiding overeating.
