Princess Kate Opens Up About Life After Can.c3r Treatment
Princess Kate has shared an honest update about her recovery after cancer treatment.
The Princess of Wales first revealed her diagnosis in March 2024, after planned abdominal surgery led doctors to discover cancer. She later began preventative chemotherapy and stepped back from public duties while focusing on her health and family.
In September 2024, Kate said she had completed chemotherapy. In January 2025, she announced that she was in remission and focused on recovery.
However, Kate has now explained that life after treatment has not been simple. During a visit to a hospital garden in Essex, she said the period after treatment can feel “really, really difficult.”
She explained that many people expect to return to normal once treatment ends. But in reality, recovery can feel uncertain. A person may no longer be under regular clinical care, yet still not feel fully able to function as before.
Kate described the process as a “roller coaster” and said finding a “new normal” takes time.
Her comments touched many people because they showed the emotional side of cancer recovery. Even after good news, healing can still take patience, support, and understanding.
For now, the Princess is gradually returning to royal duties while continuing to listen to her body and spend time with her family.
