Daughter’s Kind Act Brings Her Late Father’s Memory Back to Life
The phone call came on an ordinary morning, but the principal’s serious voice made my heart race.
Only three months had passed since I lost my husband, Jonathan. Since then, every unexpected call felt frightening. I rushed to the school, afraid something terrible had happened to my daughter, Letty.
The night before, I had found Letty crying in the bathroom. Her hair was unevenly cut, and she looked scared.
Through tears, she told me about Millie, a girl at school who had lost her hair during illness. Some classmates had been unkind, so Letty decided to cut her own hair to help make a wig for her.
My heart broke and swelled at the same time.
At school the next day, I found Letty standing beside Millie, who was wearing a beautiful wig. Several men in work jackets were also there. They had worked with Jonathan.
On the desk sat Jonathan’s old hard hat, still marked with his name.
The men said Letty’s kindness reminded them of him. Jonathan had always helped others quietly, without needing praise.
In that moment, I realized his love had not disappeared.
It was still alive in our daughter’s courage, compassion, and gentle heart.
