Bizarre reason why Floyd Mayweather
Floyd Mayweather, known for his undefeated boxing career and extravagant lifestyle, is rarely seen without a large entourage of bodyguards, known as “The Money Team.” Despite his wealth and access to private jets, he refuses to let his massive security team fly with him on the same aircraft. The reason? According to former BBC broadcaster Mike Costello, Mayweather believes the bodyguards’ heavy size would be too much for a small private jet to handle safely, so he uses a second jet exclusively for them when traveling.
This odd travel arrangement gained attention during the lead-up to Mayweather’s 2017 bout with Conor McGregor. The bodyguards, who include Alfonso Redic, Adam Plant, Pat Walsh, and Gregory La Rosa, are known for their imposing size—Redic, for example, is over 7 feet tall. McGregor even mocked them during a press event, calling them “juiceheads.” Typically, around eight bodyguards accompany Mayweather at all times, whether he’s traveling internationally or staying local in Las Vegas.
