Bono Joins Forces With Springsteen in Heated Clash With Donald Trump

President Donald Trump has often made controversial statements, including a recent remark calling Bruce Springsteen a “dried out prune.” The feud between Trump and Springsteen has drawn attention, with other artists, including U2’s Bono, expressing support for Springsteen.

Bono made his stance clear during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, declaring, “There’s only one boss in America,” signaling his alignment with Springsteen.

The tension began in May when Springsteen kicked off his European tour in Manchester, criticizing the U.S. leadership as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.”

Trump responded sharply, dismissing Springsteen as a “dried out prune of a rocker” and warning that there could be consequences upon his return to the United States.

Bono also addressed Trump’s May 19 social media attack, in which the president claimed that artists like Bono, Beyoncé, and Oprah had been paid to perform for Democrat Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 election. Bono firmly denied the allegations, emphasizing that neither he nor U2 had ever performed for any political candidate.

He also criticized Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, calling it “antisocial” and “not very true a lot of the time.”

Looking back to 2016, Bono reflected on concerns about America under Trump’s leadership, noting that those who value the country’s ideals would not remain silent while the “American dream” was jeopardized. Trump was elected a month later, but the tension between the president and prominent musicians has continued to draw public attention.
